Gold box office collection: Akshay Kumar starrer to enter 100 crore club

Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy starrer Gold is all set to enter the coveted club of Rs 100 crore club. Yes, apparently, the movie will the hit the mark today itself.

Akshay Kumar starrer Gold which was released on Independence day is all set to enter the famous 100 crore club. Yes, the movie is inching towards the coveted milestone as the current numbers stand at Rs.99 crore. The opening day collection of Gold was Rs 25.25 as it got good competition from John Abraham starrer Satyamev Jayate. The movie will be Akshay Kumar’s eighth 100 crore movie. His other movies which had entered the club are Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Holiday, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Airlift among others.

Total: ₹ 99 cr. India biz," famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. Akshay is the second Bollywood star to have max 100 crore club movies as Salman holds the top spot. As per reports, the movie is expected to collect 105 to 110 crore in its final run at BO.  

Talking about the movie,  the same is directed by Talaash and Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd director Reema Kagti. The movie is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under their banner Excel Entertainment. Apart from Akshay, the movie also stars Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal in key roles. The story revolves around India’s historic win for hockey at the 1948 Olympics. Other movies which have already entered the club this year are Padmaavat, Race 3, Raazi and Sanju among others.
