Governor Final Box Office Collections: Manoj Bajpayee's financial thriller wraps theatrical run at mere Rs 5 crore, turns a flop
Manoj Bajpayee's Governor needed a miraculous trend for a successful run, which hasn't happened. Thus, the movie flopped at the box office.
Manoj Bajpayee's financial thriller, Governor, has exhausted its entire box office run on a disappointing note. The movie wrapped up its journey at just Rs. 5 crore nett at the Indian box office, which is similar to the range of Bharata Bhhagya Viddhaata but slightly ahead of Bandar.
Directed by Chinmay D. Mandlekar, the movie met with mixed word-of-mouth among the audience, which is why it struggled at the box office. Had the movie received a positive reception, it might have seen a better run. One must note that there were some external factors too, which aided its theatrical run in the initial days. Nevertheless, it still turned out to be a FLOP.
Manoj Bajpayee's previous theatrical releases were Jugnuma and Bhaiyya Ji. While the former was an indie film, the latter had mass appeal. However, none of them could see a promising run at the box office.
That said, Manoj Bajpayee is yet to deliver a solo Clean Hit film. Though it doesn't take away the fact that he is a legend on OTT, probably the biggest star on streaming platforms. It will be interesting to see how his upcoming films perform at the box office.
