Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Day 5 Box Office: Varun Dhawan's comedy drama collects Rs 3.50 crore on discounted Tuesday, crosses Rs 30 crore mark
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur, is looking to wind up its entire run around Rs. 50-60 crore nett in India.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai collected Rs. 3.50-3.75 crore on its first Tuesday, registering a nominal spike on the first Monday. The romantic comedy drama, directed by David Dhawan, took its 5-day running cume to Rs. 30.50 crore nett at the Indian box office. Starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is looking to wind up its first week around the Rs. 35-36 crore mark.
The box office trajectory is a bit strange here. On Saturday, the film was left for dead with a drop from opening day, which itself could be said to be below average at best. Yet on weekdays, it is putting up decent to good holds. There is an offer in play, which could be helping, but when that didn't push it much on opening day, there is little it can do on weekdays. A somewhat similar pattern was seen earlier this year with a film that was pretty much done over the weekend but was putting good holds on weekdays. The reason was feeding, which could also be what is in play here. That film came down in the second week once feeding ended; let's see if that happens here as well.
Regardless of that, the film hasn't performed well at the box office.
