Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Final Advance Booking: Varun Dhawan starrer sells 32,000 tickets; Eyes to earn Rs 7 crore on opening day
Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan, is looking to take a single-digit start at the box office.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur in the key roles, is about to hit the big screens in a couple of hours. The movie closed its advance booking on a decent note, selling around 32,000 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day.
The romantic comedy drama, directed by David Dhawan, recorded better sales than some recent releases in the same genre. For the record, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do had ended its advance sales around 13,500 tickets in PIC, while De De Pyaar De 2 was able to record nearly 25,000 admissions. When compared to Varun Dhawan's previous release, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai trailed far behind.
Nevertheless, the Varun Dhawan movie has a chance of hitting Rs. 7 crore on its opening day, depending on how it records the spot bookings and walk-ins. If the movie manages to gain a positive reception, it can see significant growth on Saturday and Sunday. All eyes are now on its initial word-of-mouth.
