With July coming to an end, its time to look back at how Bollywood and Hollywood movies performed at the box office. This month had numerous releases. Hrithik Roshan returned to the big screen after two-and-half-years with Super 30. Whereas Kangana Ranaut asking everyone, Judgementall Hai Kya? We also had young Simba roaring his way to theatres with The Lion King. The friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man was paid a visit to India with Spider-Man: Far From Home.

To top it off, some of the June releases had an amazing spillover effect on the July box office. Shahid Kapoor's controversial flick Kabir Singh, which released on June 21, entered the Rs 200-crore club this month. Even Ayushmann Khurrana brought in big bucks with his June release Article 15. Here's a look at movies that shined at the box office:

Kabir Singh:

The Sandeep Vanga directorial, which is the official remake of Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, minted Rs 273.82 crore. With a consistent performance at the box office, the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer has become the highest-grossing movie of 2019.

Article 15:

Ayushmann Khurrana hit homerun with Article 15. The intense movie was welcomed to the box office amidst amazing reviews. The story went on to strike the right chord with the audience and resulted in the movie collecting Rs 60.5 crores until July 19.

Super 30:

Hrithik Roshan took over the box office in a never-before-seen avatar. The actor went under the skin of a mathematician from Patna who aims is to get his students into IIT. His aim drew audiences to the theatres and resulted in Super 30 becoming one of the top 10 highest-grossing movies of 2019. As of today, the movie has earned Rs 128.43 crore.

The Lion King:

If there is one thing that 2019 has proven, it is that Hollywood movies could give Bollywood movies a tough competition. It was proved in the summer with Avengers: Endgame. July was yet another example of it. The Lion King released recently and it became Disney's fourth 100-crore movie in India. The movie, released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, did a great job at the box office. As of today, the movie collected Rs 119.44 crore.

Spider-Man: Far From Home:

Spider-Man: Far From Home released earlier this month. The Tom Holland starrer was the first movie to have released after Avengers: Endgame. This drew Marvel fans to the theatres and as a result, Spider-Man: Far From Home collected Rs 77.51 crore.
