Krishnavataram Part 1: Hridayam collected Rs. 1.55 crore on its 1st Tuesday, witnessing a jump of 30 per cent over its opening day. The spike came due to discounted ticket fares on Tuesday. The 5-day cume of the mythological fantasy drama reached Rs. 9.40 crore, including paid premieres.

The movie is looking to close its first week around Rs. 11 crore or so. Though these are decent numbers for the cast and release size of the film, but not satisfactory enough for such a well-budgeted movie. The cost is on the higher side, which means it needs to record a much stronger trend ahead in order to succeed at the box office.

There was Mahavatar Narsimha last year, which was an animated film based on two of the avatars of Lord Vishnu. That film opened to Rs. 1.25 crore nett on the first day, saw exponential growth over the weekend to Rs. 3.25 crore nett on Saturday and Rs. 6.25 crore nett on Sunday. It eventually went on to collect Rs. 170 crore nett in Hindi. Krishnavataram is a live-action film on the Krishna avatar. These films are hard to predict. We also saw a film like Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahayate last year, which did almost nothing in the first three weeks and then exploded.

The Box Office Collections for Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hindi) in India are as follows:

Day Nett
Previews Rs. 0.40 cr.
Friday Rs. 1.05 cr.
Saturday Rs. 2.15 cr.
Sunday Rs. 3.20 cr.
Monday Rs. 1.05 cr.
Tuesday Rs. 1.55 cr. (est.)

Total Rs. 9.40 cr.
