Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam), starring Siddharth Gupta, Sanskruti Jayana, Sushmitha Bhat, and Nivaashiyni Krishnan, closed the second week at Rs. 9.75 crore nett, with Rs. 90 lakh coming on Thursday. The movie recorded a nominal drop from the first week. That's a promising hold for the cast involved; however, it's not satisfying enough for the production cost.

The mythological fantasy drama should aim for a good spike in the third weekend in order to reach a respectable total. The movie needs to explode ideally, like how Laalo Krishna Sada Sahayate and Mahavatar Narsimha performed at the box office.

Talking about Laalo Krishna Sada Sahayate, it did nothing for over a month and then exploded like a new sensation. There was Mahavatar Narsimha, an animated film based on two of the avatars of Lord Vishnu. That film opened to Rs. 1.25 crore nett on the first day, saw exponential growth over the weekend to Rs. 3.25 crore nett on Saturday and Rs. 6.25 crore nett on Sunday. It eventually went on to collect Rs. 170 crore nett in Hindi. That said, these mythological films are very hard to predict. It will be interesting to see whether the Siddharth Gupta starrer can surprise in the coming weeks or not.
