Main Vaapas Aaunga Box Office: Imtiaz Ali's romantic drama registers 20 per cent spike on 3rd Tuesday, on track to hit Rs. 50 crore mark
Main Vaapas Aaunga has a good potential of reaching Rs. 65-70 crore net by the end of its full run. However, it won't be easy due to significant new releases.
Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga registered a 20 per cent spike on its 3rd Tuesday. The movie added Rs. 1.65 crore to the tally, bringing the 3rd week's cume to Rs. 14 crore nett. It is looking to close this week around Rs. 17 to 19 crore nett, which will be a promising hold.
The running cume of Main Vaapas Aaunga reached Rs. 46.75 crore nett at the Indian box office. It will surpass the Rs. 50 crore mark in its 4th weekend and then will face a new release, Alpha. It will be crucial to see whether the movie manages to perform well even after the new release.
Based on current trends, the movie has a good potential of reaching Rs. 65-70 crore net by the end of its full run. However, it won't be easy. The Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari film needs to sustain this level of collections for a couple of weeks while Alpha and Dhamaal 4.
Also crucial is going to be the overseas performance, where the film is suffering from extremely limited showcasing. Given the appreciation this film has got, it could have targeted USD 4-5 million final, but now even USD 3 million will be a very good finish.
