Michael Box Office Collections: King of Pop's musical biopic collects Rs 7.50 crore in Week 4, approaches Rs 80 crore mark
Michael Jackson's biographical drama continued to perform well in India. The movie is set to cross the Rs. 75 crore mark in its 5th week at the box office.
Hollywood film Michael wrapped its 4th week on a good note. The biographical musical drama of Michael Jackson added Rs. 7.50 crore to the tally in its Week 4, with Rs. 3.60 crore coming on the weekdays. The movie registered a drop of 40 per cent from the previous week, which is a very good hold.
The Jaafar Jackson starrer now stands at Rs. 72.25 crore gross at the Indian box office by the end of its 28-day theatrical run. Michael is expected to keep gaining traction for a couple of weeks, though at low levels. The movie will surpass the Rs. 80 crore mark in the coming week, and then it will march toward its lifetime target.
It is the third HIT for Hollywood this year after Project Hail Mary and Lee Cronin’s The Mummy in India. Interestingly, all three have arrived within a short span of roughly a month. Even The Devil Wears Prada 2 is performing well. While it may not emerge as a HIT, it is shaping up to be a success. What makes these results particularly impressive is that none of these films fits the conventional template of a Hollywood HIT in India, a market that is usually heavily IP-driven. There are some big films from big IPs slated for release later this year. 2026 could turn out to be a very strong year for Hollywood in India, especially if there are more unexpected successes and HITs along the way.
