Michael India Box Office: Jackson's biopic closes 3rd week at Rs 13 crore, hits Rs 65 crore mark in 21 days
Jaafar Jackson's Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua, recorded a 35 per cent drop from the previous week. The film is expected to wind up its entire cume around Rs. 80 crore mark.
Michael collected Rs. 13 crore in its third week at the Indian box office. The movie registered a nearly 35 per cent drop from the second week. That's a promising hold considering the genre. The movie sustained well on the weekdays, and it is expected to see a good spike on the fourth weekend, too.
Currently standing at Rs. 64.75 crore gross at the Indian box office, the biographical drama about Michael Jackson is looking to wind up its theatrical run around the Rs. 80 crore mark. That will make it the second biggest Hollywood grosser of 2026 after Project Hail Mary. The movie has already emerged as the biggest Hollywood musical biopic of all time at the Indian box office.
Michael has emerged as the third HIT for Hollywood this year after Project Hail Mary and Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. Interestingly, all three have arrived within a short span of roughly a month. Even The Devil Wears Prada 2 is performing well. While it may not emerge as a HIT, it is shaping up to be a success. What makes these results particularly impressive is that none of these films fits the conventional template of a Hollywood HIT in India, a market that is usually heavily IP-driven. There are some big films from big IPs slated for release later this year. 2026 could turn out to be a very strong year for Hollywood in India, especially if there are more unexpected successes and HITs along the way.
