Obsession India Box Office: Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette-led film continues SENSATIONAL run, grosses Rs 50 crore mark in 12 days
Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette starrer Obsession, directed by Curry Barker, recorded a 25 per cent spike in its second Tuesday compared to the first.
Obsession witnessed another promising day at the Indian box office, with Rs. 4.50 crore coming on the discounted 2nd Tuesday. The movie registered a 7-8 per cent spike on Monday and a 25 per cent jump from the previous Tuesday. That's a superb trend to say the least.
The running cume of the Hollywood horror thriller has crossed the Rs. 50 crore gross mark (USD 5.27 million) at the Indian box office in just 12 days of theatrical run, including paid previews. The second week is currently headed for around Rs. 36 crore, which would take its total to around Rs. 58 crore by Thursday.
From there on, Obsession has the potential to go over the Rs. 80 crore to Rs. 90 crore, with an eye on the Rs. 100 crore mark, too. Though it won't be an easy task, as the film will be facing competition from several Hollywood and Bollywood releases throughout June, that will be another challenge. Of course, it doesn’t need to hit Rs. 100 crore because it has already done far beyond the most optimistic of the expectations. That said, the movie is looking to surpass the lifetime cume of Michael and Project Hail Mary in India, which is itself a huge feat.
