Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Box Office Collections: Ayushmann Khurrana-led rom-com adds Rs 2.75 crore on Wednesday, crosses Rs 25 crore mark

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do collected Rs. 2.75 crore on its Day 6 (Wednesday), registering a 20 per cent drop from the previous day and 10 per cent from Monday. The romantic comedy drama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakulpreet Singh, crossed the Rs. 25 crore mark at the Indian box office. It is looking to close the first week around Rs. 29 crore nett. Not sure how long the feeding could continue, but with this trend, the film could go on to collect Rs. 60 crore or so in full run, which would be a decent total but again, doesn't mean anything.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the movie will face Chand Mera Dil from the second weekend onwards.
The post-pandemic era has been particularly unforgiving for small and mid-budget small-town comedies. Before the pandemic, especially during 2018-2019, this space was thriving with a plethora of hit films, including Pati Patni Aur Woh. Ayushmann Khurrana was at the forefront of this trend, delivering multiple back-to-back hits that also opened well at the box office. Had this film been released in 2020, it likely would have opened three to five times higher than its current numbers.
