Patriot Kerala Box Office: Mammootty and Mohanlal starrer remains under Rs 3 crore in 2nd weekend, grosses Rs 27 crore in 10 days
Malayalam film Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead, added Rs. 2.90 crore to the tally in its second weekend. The movie is expected to wind up its theatrical run soon.
Malayalam film Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles, is struggling at the box office. The movie added Rs. 2.90 crore in its second weekend, with Rs. 1.10 crore coming on the second Sunday. The spy thriller registered an 85 per cent drop from the opening weekend, which is a huge drop.
Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the running cume of Patriot reached Rs. 27.15 crore gross at the Kerala box office. The movie is heading to close its second week around Rs. 30 crore gross. Based on the current trends, the Malayalam film is looking to wind up its entire theatrical run around Rs. 35 crore to Rs. 40 crore gross at the Kerala box office.
Patriot met with mixed-bag reactions among the audience, which is why the movie is struggling at the box office. Had the movie received a positive reception among the audience, it would have performed better. The spy thriller turned out to be a flop.

For the unversed, Patriot is one of Malayalam cinema's biggest films of all time. The movie marks the reunion of Mollywood's two giants, Mohanlal and Mammootty, after nearly 18 years. The next big release from Malayalam cinema is Drishyam 3. It will be interesting to see whether the Mohanlal starrer can stand true to its franchise's cult status or not.
