Peddi Box Office Collections: Ram Charan, Jahnvi Kapoor starrer posts a big Rs. 82 Cr opening day in India
Telugu states, where Peddi collected Rs. 66.50 crore approx, it is the fourth-highest opening of all time, ahead of Devara and just behind Pushpa 2, RRR, and They Call Him OG.
Telugu film Peddi had a big opening day at the Indian box office, collecting Rs. 81.75 crore approx, including Rs. 23 crore approx from Wednesday night previews. The bulk of the business came from the Telugu states, where it collected Rs. 66.50 crore approx, the fourth-highest opening of all time, ahead of Devara and just behind Pushpa 2, RRR, and They Call Him OG.
The Ram Charan starrer also did well in Karnataka, bringing in Rs. 9 crore approx, including previews. The Telugu version fared strongly in North India and Tamil Nadu as well. There was a Hindi dubbed version, which collected Rs. 3 crore nett approx, which isn’t a lot but not too shabby for a non-sequel film from the South. There was speculation of feeding/punching, may be it was there, but if it was, it wasn’t as pervasive as it was for a Game Changer.
The opening is a plus and a welcome development for the Telugu film industry, which is starved of releases, let alone hits. Peddi itself has faced numerous delays, originally slated to release last year and finally making the date yesterday. The reception seems to be on the positive side and that’s very important. There will be a drop in business today from a loaded opening day. Then over the weekend it should makes gains, the reception should help with that.
The Territorial Breakdown for the First Day Box Office Collections for Peddi in India is as follows:
