Pinkvilla Predicts: First day box office forecast of Dhamaal 4, trailer update for Alpha and final forecast of Cocktail 2

Entering the ‘Pinkvilla Predicts’ tracking this week is Dhammal 4. There is also a trailer update for Alpha and the final update for Cocktail 2.

First day box office forecast: Rs. 14-19 crore

Dhamaal is one of the popular comedy franchises from Bollywood. While the first film wasn’t a big hit theatrically, it grew immensely post-release. The second part, Double Dhamaal, opened well in 2011 but couldn’t sustain. The franchise got its first HIT with Total Dhamaal in 2019.

The trailer, released a few days ago, showcased enough humour to strike a chord with the audience. That, coupled with the franchise value, the film is expected to open well on its first day.

- The trailer for Alpha was released yesterday, which appears to be a good asset, and the response also seems relatively better than the teaser. Having said that, the issue remains with genre limitation and the pre-release negativity due to current circumstances. Still, the forecast is revised upward slightly, from Rs. 3-6 crore to Rs. 4-7 crore.

- Cocktail 2 seems to have seen some improvement in buzz in the final week leading to release. The recognition value of the first film, which had superhit music, seems to be working in its favour. The advance bookings are suggesting a double-digit opening as well. There is more confidence in the film. As such, the forecast is upped from Rs. 7-11 crore to Rs. 9-12 crore.
