Raja Shivaji Box Office Collections: Riteish Deshmukh starrer at Rs. 65 Cr in India after 8 days
Second Friday keeps the film on course to Rs. 100 crore, but it might be cutting it close if the holds going forward aren’t good.
Raja Shivaji kicked off its second week, collecting Rs. 3.75 crore approx on Friday. This marks a 10 per cent drop from Thursday, while the week-on-week drop was over 70 per cent. The drop was less for the Marathi version at under 10 per cent, while the Hindi version dropped by 20 per cent from Thursday. The film could have held a bit better, on par with Thursday, preferably, maybe even some growth.
The eight-day running total for Riteish Deshmukh starrer stands at Rs. 65.50 crore approx. The second weekend will likely be around Rs. 17 crore, for a total of Rs. 78 crore by Sunday. That keeps the film on course to Rs. 100 crore, but it might be cutting it close if the holds going forward aren’t good. If the film reaches Rs. 100 crore, it will become the highest-grossing film from the Marathi film industry.
That said, there is also a sense that the film could have aimed even higher. The Marathi box office records were sort of set for it; the target was films like Tanhaji and Chhaava, which were also based on figures from the Maratha Empire. Tanhaji grossed over Rs. 175 crore in Maharashtra state back in 2020, while Chhaava went on to collect over Rs. 300 crore. Raja Shivaji is centred on the very founder and leader of that empire, long anticipated and made in the actual language of the empire. While the film has done well so far, it is no longer in race to reach the heights which Tanhaji and Chhaava reached.
The Box Office Collections of Raja Shivaji in India are as follows:
