Raja Shivaji Box Office Collections: Riteish Deshmukh's historic epic collects Rs 3 crore plus in 4th Weekend, grosses Rs 106 crore in 24 days
Riteish Deshmukh's historical epic saga, Raja Shivaji, is heading to wind up its entire box office journey at Rs. 110 crore gross in India. Check out the details below.
Raja Shivaji closed its 4th weekend at Rs. 3.25 crore, with Rs. 1.40 crore coming on Sunday. The movie recorded a 60 per cent drop from the previous weekend, which is a fair hold. The movie is now running in its final legs. Currently standing at Rs. 106.25 crore gross at the Indian box office, the Riteish Deshmukh starrer is looking to wind up its entire journey around the Rs. 110 crore mark.
The historical epic, based on the real-life story of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has already emerged as the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, surpassing Sairat and Baipan Bhari Deva. Unlike Raja Shivaji, these two were limited to Maharashtra alone in release size.
On the other hand, Raja Shivaji is released in Marathi and Hindi. It has a significant amount coming from outside Maharashtra. In its home turf, it will likely stay below Baipan Bhari Deva and Sairat, and that’s what the core market really is, and that’s where it should have done record numbers as well. Of course, the expectations were for even higher as films like Tanhaji and Chhaava did extraordinary numbers in the state, the former adjusting to Rs. 250 crore today while the latter crossed Rs. 300 crore. Raja Shivaji won’t even reach Rs. 100 crore in the state.
