Pedro Pascal's latest outing, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, registered a dull opening weekend at the Indian box office. The Hollywood sci-fi movie collected Rs. 1.20 crore on its Day 3 (Sunday), closing its first weekend at Rs. 3.40 crore gross.

Star Wars doesn't have a significant market in India, which could be a major reason the movie is struggling at the box office. Barring Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which did somewhat decent business in 2015, none of the films have managed even that. It had a huge market and popularity in the West earlier, but it has passed its prime.

The movie is expected to wind up its entire theatrical run on a low note, emerging as a flop at the Indian box office. Pedro's previous sci-fi release, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, had a relatively far better opening weekend in India, but that's due to Marvel's branding. It will be interesting to see how The Mandalorian & Grogu perform on weekdays and whether it can stick to cinemas for the long run.

Day-wise box office collections of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu in India are as follows:

Day Box Office
1 Rs. 0.80 crore
2 Rs. 1.30 crore
3 Rs. 1.30 crore

Total  Rs. 3.40 crore
