The Devil Weds Prada 2, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in the lead roles, has recorded a good hold at the Indian box office. After collecting Rs. 21.70 crore in its first week, the movie fetched around Rs. 6 crore in its second weekend. It further added Rs. 2 crore more to the tally on the weekdays, closing the second week at Rs. 8 crore.
The running cume of The Devil Weds Prada 2 now stands close to the Rs. 30 crore mark. The comedy drama is looking to wind up its entire theatrical run at Rs. 35 crore gross. That will be a promising total for a Hollywood film of this genre, as it is not very popular in India. The Meryl Streep starrer emerged as a successful venture at the Indian box office.
With its impressive run, Hollywood witnessed four back-to-back successes in India, with Project Hail Mary, Michael, and Lee Cronin's The Mummy emerging as profitable ventures. Interestingly, all these films arrived within a short span of roughly a month.
