Welcome To The Jungle collected Rs. 9 crore on its first Tuesday, registering a 10 per cent spike on Monday. The running cume of the comedy caper reached Rs. 81 crore nett at the Indian box office in 5 days, including paid previews.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, the Akshay Kumar starrer is looking to close its first week around the Rs. 95 crore nett mark in India. The film is performing best in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh; however, it lacks the usual showcasing in Delhi-NCR due to the strong performance of holdover releases.
The weekend had set the film for success; this Monday and Tuesday's holds have further strengthened its prospects. It will face Alpha next week, but that should not pose much of a problem. The bigger challenge will come in the third week with Dhamaal 4, another successful comedy franchise targeting a similar audience. It will be the third week hold, which will cement the success status of the film and may even be a HIT. Bhooth Bangla added Rs. 49 crore nett after the second week. If Welcome to the Jungle manages that, it will likely be a HIT.
