Welcome to the Jungle Box Office Early Estimates: Akshay Kumar starrer holds well on Monday, Set to be a SUCCESS

Welcome to the Jungle is holding supremely well on its first working day, i.e. Monday, with the film looking to collect around Rs. 8 crore nett. So far today, the film is running about 55-60 per cent of its opening day, which will lead to Rs. 8-9 crore day. We need to see how well the night shows hold; if they hold strongly, the film could push towards Rs. 9 crore nett.
Even Rs. 8 crore nett would be a very good hold, i.e. about 45-50 per cent drop from Friday. In comparison, Bhooth Bangla had a Rs. 6.25 crore nett Monday, down from Rs. 12 crore nett Friday. Since Friday of Welcome to the Jungle was a bit inflated by a holiday, the real value drop is probably 30-35 per cent, but then you have to consider Friday being deflated due to previews the night before, so that even outs the thing.
The hold is best in Delhi-NCR, where the film had a lower release than usual due to holdovers holding well and a new release of Carry on Jatta 4. As such, the spillover from the weekend is turning up on Monday. The Hindi belt circuits like Rajasthan and UP are posting superb collections, with other places like Mumbai and CPCI also holding well.
The weekend had set the film for success; this Monday's hold has further strengthened its prospects. The Akshay Kumar starrer is on course to Rs. 95 crore nett in its first week. There will be competition from Alpha next week, but that should not pose much of a problem. The bigger challenge will come in the third week with Dhamaal 4, another successful comedy franchise targeting a similar audience. It will be the third week hold, which will cement the success status of the film and may even be a HIT. Bhooth Bangla added Rs. 49 crore nett after the second week. If Welcome to the Jungle manages that, it will likely be a HIT.
