After delivering a commendable performance in Mission Mangal, Vidya Balan is all set to now deliver a power-packed performance in a film titled Shakuntala Devi - Human Computer. Recently, Vidya Balan took to her social media and shared the first look poster and teaser of the much-awaited film.

In the poster, Vidya can be seen dressed in a red saree and sports a bob haircut. The poster has won millions of hearts as it definitely shares an uncanny resemblance with the ace mathematician. The actress captioned the poster as, "Excitement is multiplying each day! Time to dig into the 'root' of the mathematical genius". In the teaser, Vidya Balan's character is described as sharp, arrogant, eccentric, ruthless, witty, outspoken and Ma Genius. Vidya captioned the teaser as, "She was extraordinary in every sense of the word! Know the story of child prodigy & the human computer."

In an interview with PTI, Vidya mentioned that she's very excited to portray the role of Shakuntala Devi. 'She was truly someone who embraced her individuality, had a strong feminist voice and braved many a naysayer to reach the pinnacle of success,' she said. Early life

Shakuntala Devi's was only three years old when her father, who worked as a trapeze artist, tightrope walker and magician, found out she was good at memorizing numbers when he was teaching her a card trick.

An expert in solving math problems

Shakuntala Devi became an expert at solving math problems at the age of five.

University of Mysore

She was only six years old when she showed her arithmetic prowess at the University of Mysore.

Moved to London

Shakuntala Devi along with her father moved to London wherein she demonstrated her skills at various universities.

Title of Human Computer

Ever wondered how she got the title of Human Computer? Well, on October 5, 1950, BBC host Leslie Mitchell gave her a math problem to solve and she solved it within seconds. However, the answers didn't match. After rechecking, Mitchell confessed that Shakuntala's answer was correct. It was then she was given the title of Human Computer.

Guinness Book of Records

On 18 June 1980, Shakuntala Devi did the multiplication of 13 two digit numbers 7, 686, 369, 774, 870 and 2, 465, 099, 745, 779. She correctly answered it within 28 seconds. The same got her into the Guinness Book of Records.

Author of several books

Shakuntala Devi passed away in April 2013. She was an author of many books such as The World of Homosexuals, Puzzles to Puzzle You, Figuring the Joy of Numbers among others.
