England on Tuesday faces Afghanistan in the match number 24 of ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford. The hosts have shown dominance in the tournament with three wins in the four games while Afghanistan is yet to open their winning account.

The two teams earlier met in the warm-up match where England completely outplayed Gulabdin Naib’s men. However, the Afghanis will get an opportunity to make a comeback when they face the Eoin Morgan-led side tomorrow at Manchester.

Prior to this match, England faced a big blow as the opener, Jason Roy has been ruled out for a few matches owing to an injury. Meanwhile, weather has been in the spotlight in the World Cup so far and it could play a part in the upcoming matches as well. Here is how weather and pitch expected to be for Tuesday’s encounter.

Weather report

To everyone’s delight, there are almost no chances of a downpour at the Old Trafford tomorrow. Although the sun might not be out during the whole day, it is unlikely to rain. The temperature will range from 15 to 18 celsius at the venue while humidity would be 70’s.

Pitch conditions

As seen in the last match between India and Pakistan, the pitch at Old Trafford might bring be a good batting track. Bat will come nicely onto the bat and we could witness a high-scoring encounter, especially if England batted first. However, there might be some spin in offer in the later stage of match, which surely is a piece of good news for spin-heavy Afghanistan.
