Defending champions Australia continued their run in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as they sealed their semi-final berth with a comfortable win over hosts England. Under overcast conditions, the duo of Aaron Finch and David Warner put on 123 runs for the first wicket, but just when it seemed that a score of above 300 would be breached, regular wickets stalled the run flow.

The Aussies could eventually make 285 runs in their 50 overs - a target that seemed easy for the English side. However, Mitchell Starc and Jason Behrendorff ensured that was not the case. Reeling at 53 for 4, the hosts desperately needed a hero, but Ben Stokes' 89 was not enough to save them the blues, as they went down by 64 runs. Australia have qualified for the semis, while England need to win two in two.
