EXCLUSIVE: Jacqueline Fernandez to headline her first out-and-out horror film; Shoot begins this month

Horror has become a new sensation among the audience these days. Be it Hollywood films like Obsession, Backrooms, Sinners, or Indian titles like Shaitaan and Bramayugam, the genre is currently one of the top priorities in the film industry. The recently released Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past once again strengthened the ongoing demand for horror films in India. Seeing audience demand, several actors from the film industry have already begun scouting for horror dramas.
Pinkvilla exclusively learnt that Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to enter the horror space for the first time, with an out-and-out horror film. The actress was looking for a good horror script for a long time, and now it seems her quest has ended on a good note.
A source close to the development revealed, "Jacqueline Fernandez was keen to explore the horror genre with the right script. What excited her about this film was its blend of horror, emotion, and music, making it a complete theatrical experience rather than just a genre film.”
While the Kick actress is headlining this yet-to-be-titled exciting project, two male actors have already been finalized opposite her. Details about the entire cast and director have been kept under wraps for now. Touted to be a complete theatrical package, the film will be produced by Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment on a grand scale. An announcement on the same can be expected soon.
The source further mentioned that a song and a teaser have already been shot for the film, while the actors are currently busy in workshops. The principal photography for the film is expected to begin shortly, possibly by the end of this month.
For the unversed, Jacqueline previously starred in Bhooth Police, which was not an out-and-out horror flick but a horror comedy, and it had a completely different approach. On the work front, the actress was last seen in Housefull 5. She is now gearing up for the release of Welcome To The Jungle, slated to hit the screens on June 26, 2026.
