Aditya Dhar made an entry in Bollywood with the Vicky Kaushal starrer URI: The Surgical Strike, which went ahead to win a National Award and following the success of URI, he jumped onto Ashwatthama which again features Vicky in lead. The director has formed a formidable partnership with producer, Ronnie Screwvala as both the films are bankrolled by him and the duo is now gearing up to co-produce a film together. Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Ronnie and Aditya’s next production will feature Pratik Gandhi alongside Yami Gautam in the lead.
“It’s a script developed by Aditya, however, he is going to be completely busy with mythological superhero film, The Immortal Ashwatthama, for the next two years, and hence, he decided to creatively produce the film with Ronnie, instead of directing it,” revealed a source close to the development. The makers are in advanced talks with the current digital sensation, Pratik Gandhi in the lead alongside Yami Gautam as his female counterpart. Pratik took the digital world by storm with his performance in Scam 1992.
“The story demands for a fresh pairing. The team is exploring their new leads in Yami and Pratik – both of them have loved the script, and verbally agreed to come on board, however the paperwork is yet to be done. If all goes as planned, the film will go on floors in second half of 2021,” the source added.
In the meanwhile, Aditya Dhar is currently working on the pre-production of his futuristic film, The Immortal Ashwatthama, which he intends to take on the floors in second half of the year with Vicky Kaushal in the titular role. The film features Sara Ali Khan as the female lead and it would be her first venture with Vicky. If our sources are to be believed, the prep has already begun with the two leading actors.
