EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan plays a DOUBLE ROLE in Aanand L Rai’s next
Shah Rukh Khan to play a double role for the sixth time in Aanand L. Rai's directorial.
All those who have been unhappy with Shah Rukh Khan playing a dwarf in Aanand L Rai’s untitled next will be happy to hear this news. We will get to see two Shah Rukh's in the movie. Besides the dwarf’s character, the star will play a normal, regular kind of guy too – and both get to romance the two actresses in the film. After Fan, we will get to see Shah Rukh Khan in yet another double role – this time in Rai’s next also co-starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. This will be the superstar’s sixth double role after Fan. His earlier films which starred him in double roles include Karan Arjun (1995), Duplicate (1998), Don (2006), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Ra.One (2011).
Says a source, “While everyone knows that Shah Rukh is playing a dwarf in the film, only the unit and cast know that SRK actually has a double role in the movie. While one of them is a dwarf, the other is an average, regular kind of a common man and he is again played by Shah Rukh. The star will play his usual charming, romantic self in that role as we get to see him sing and dance. Both characters are completely different from each other, strongly performance-oriented and both the leading ladies get a chance to romance SRK. They have equal lengths in the films and hence they signed up for the film. Anushka will romance the normal guy while Katrina will romance the dwarf. It’s not an experimental film at all but about friendships and love. Shah Rukh has made a five-minute clip of the film and shown it to some of his close friends in B-Town and all have been raving about it.” 
The shooting of the film began from May this year and has been slotted for a December 21, 2018, release. VFX is an important part of the film because of Shah Rukh’s dwarf character and there will be holes drilled on the platform into which the actor will get into keeping his height short as well as props. The regular SRK's character does not require any VFX or props.
However, Aanand L Rai when contacted said, "It's not true. Shah Rukh does not have a double role in my film."
