Ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has returned with yet another romantic drama with Main Vaapas Aaunga. Set against the haunting backdrop of India’s partition, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina in pivotal roles. Now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that the trailer of Main Vaapas Aaunga is all set to launch on May 19, 2026. The trailer launch event will be attended by Imtiaz Ali, AR Rahman, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, among other cast and crew.
Known for crafting deeply emotional romances, Imtiaz Ali returns to familiar territory with a tale that explores love left behind by time and borders. Main Vaapas Aaunga revolves around an elderly man haunted by memories of a childhood romance that was torn apart during the partition. Through nostalgia, longing, and unfinished emotions, the narrative promises to revisit the pain of separation.
The recently unveiled teaser offers glimpses into the film’s poignant world, blending intimate emotions with visually rich storytelling. Sharing the essence of the film, the makers posted on social media, “In Imtiaz Ali’s world, love is never just a feeling. The emotional drama has music composed by AR Rahman, who worked with Imtiaz Ali on several soundtracks. The film is backed by Applause Entertainment along with Mohit Choudhary and Shibasish Sarkar of Window Seat Films, while the music has been presented by Tips Music.
