In 2008, Robert Downey Jr. took up the mantle of becoming the genius, playboy, billionaire, philanthropist aka Tony Stark and then we saw the evolution of Iron Man. The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) film also starred Gwyneth Paltrow and was directed by Jon Favreau. There is a paticular sequence featuring Tony when Pepper Potts gives him a gift of his old arc reactor with the words inscribed "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart". There were many instances in MCU's decade-long history when Howard Stark's son proved that he cared more about the universe than even himself.

Captain America had once quipped that all Tony cares about was himself. However, Steve Rogers was proved wrong when Tony was willing to sacrifice himself to save the world from a deadly nuclear missile. Tony has also been there for each of the OG 6 Avengers at some point in their lives. Whether it be for his Science Bro aka Bruce Banner or even Cap himself. However, his ultimate sacrifice came in Avengers: Endgame when "I am Iron Man," had a very different meaning from when it was said 11 years ago.

Here are 5 moments which are proof that Tony Stark has a heart:

Stark Industries abolishes manufacture of weapons (Iron Man)

After his hellish experience in war-torn Afghanistan, Tony Stark has a change of heart and abolishes manufacture of weapons by the Stark Industries. Seeing how his company was responsible for so much destruction in the world, we saw the cocky billionaire care about others, whose name did not end with Stark.

The first sacrifice - The Avengers

When a nuclear missile threatens to wipe out New York in its wake, Tony Stark takes it upon himself to take the missile up in space, neglecting the fact that he could potentially die as well. It was at this moment when the genius, playboy, billionaire, philanthropist said an official farewell, and we got the real Iron Man.

Travels to space to try to kill Thanos (Avengers: Infinity War)

For the second time, Tony Stark would have complete disregard for his own being and travel to space to defeat The Mad Titan aka Thanos. Thanos himself was impressed by Tony; do you really need more proof?

His relationship with Peter Parker (Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame)

Peter Parker aka Spider-Man was like a son to Tony Stark, which is why we still cry when we see their sequence in Avengers: Infinity War (You know which one!) The fact that Tony was willing to risk losing everything he had to bring Peter back in Avengers: Endgame is testament of his caring and loyal nature.

*SPOILER ALERT* I am Iron Man - Avengers: Endgame

When Doctor Strange saved Iron Man, you knew Tony Stark would play a key role in defeating Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. His life was good; a loving wife in Pepper Potts and a darling daughter in Morgan. But, Tony could not rest in peace unless the ones lost came back. Eventually, they did and Tony was able to finally rest in peace, quite literally!
