Pop sensation and Hollywood star Ariana Grande and her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater have split after three years of dating reportedly. According to Page Six, the pair decided to dissolve their romantic relationship several months ago but have chosen to maintain a close bond behind the scenes.

Why did Ariana Grande split from Ethan Slater?

Page Six source shared, “Ariana and Ethan broke up several months ago but they’ve remained friends since then and have nothing but respect and admiration for one another. This wasn’t a decision they took lightly but realized they were better off friends than in a committed relationship.”

Following the separation, Grande is reportedly channelizing her energy entirely into her global musical commitments. “Ariana is feeling really happy and focused on the next chapter with her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour and the upcoming release of her album Petal,” the insider added. According to online reports, Grande's upcoming album is not inspired by the breakup or her relationship with Slater.

When did Grande and Slater start dating?

The 32-year-old pop icon and the 34-year-old Broadway actor initially crossed paths on the sets of Wicked, a period when both were navigating the separation from their previous partners. Grande was married to real estate agent Dalton Gomez, and Slater to his high school sweetheart, Lilly Jay. Slater and Jay share a 3-year-old son together.

Ariana and Ethan faced public scrutiny in June 2023 when Slater’s ex-wife criticized Grande for their separation. However, close insiders defended the timeline, asserting that Slater had been separated from Jay for two months before dating Grande.
