Avengers: Endgame deservedly was bestowed with the honour of being the most successful movie ever made, thanks to the humongous global box-office numbers. It beat the record held by James Cameron's Avatar (2009), which was $2.788 billion. Starring the OG 6 Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye), Avengers: Endgame marked the culmination of a decade-long MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) journey which ended with the Avengers defeating Thanos, and restoring the balance in the universe.

For the Russo Brothers, who helmed both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it may be the end for them in the MCU, as well. However, the duo is open to being a part of the crazy world, in the future. During a session of Ask Me Anything on Reddit, a fan asked the brothers which character's movie they would like to handle in the MCU, who has not yet debuted, like from X-Men or Fantastic Four. To this, Anthony Russo wrote, "We've always loved us some Wolverine."

Wolverine is considered as the most popular X-Men character in the 20th Century Fox franchise, thanks to Hugh Jackman. But the Oscar-nominated actor hung up his boots as Wolverine with Logan (2017). It would be interesting to see how MCU handles the treatment of Wolverine, especially with a new actor.

Rumours are rife that Taron Egerton is amongst the frontrunners to take up the mantle from Hugh Jackman and fans are rallying behind the Rocketman star. Talking to Variety about the Wolverine rumours, Taron had gushed, "I love Marvel and I love the movies, and I'd love the excuse to get in shape. I'd love to be apart of it. Whether [Wolverine's] realistic or not, I don't know, but I'd love to be apart of one."
