There is no denying that San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was all about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel Studios announced their plans for the MCU Phase 4. From Black Widow to Blade, Thor: Love and Thunder and The Eternals, big movie and Disney Plus series announcements were the highlights of Marvel at SDCC 2019. Apart from the new announcement, Marvel Studios made some noise courtesy Avengers: Endgame. Although the movie released in April, there was a special panel at the Comic-Con this year wherein new interesting details about the highest-grossing movie of all-time were revealed.

The Russo Brothers and Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely took over the centre stage and spilled the beans about the Marvel movie. While there were several behind-the-scene details discussed, there was one thing that caught our fancy. The Avengers: Endgame writers spoke about the original plan for Iron Man aka Tony Stark's death in the movie. The MCU movie bid farewell to the oldest MCU character on screen. Fans would remember that Tony's last words were "I am Iron Man," reminding us of the Iron Man ending, when Robert Downey Jr was introduced to MCU as the superhero.

While it was emotional for Iron Man fans, the writers had different final words planned for the superhero. According to Comicbook.com, the writers had planned some lovely dying words for the superhero. However, Downey Jr rejected the idea. "Robert did not want that; he knew that there is more weight to Tony when the hero doesn't talk. The star wanted to do much less. So, Robert had the most influence along with the producers," the report revealed.

Iron Man's death broke our hearts. Even the thought of his death runs shivers down our spine and makes us emotional. What was your reaction to Iron Man's death? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

I love Tony Stark.

We love him 3000. And we always will. Tony Stark wasn't a man of words, he didn't like to show his love towards someone by saying it out loud. Instead, he showed them through his actions. "I am Iron Man" were possibly the best dying words anyone could have chosen, because it gut wrenchingly took us back 11 years ago, when Iron Man started out his new life with these words. It's right to end it by those same words too. Part of the journey is the end, and Tony has taught me that. We love you Tony. To my favourite billionaire, philanthropist, playboy. Friend, father, husband, hero. To my childhood. To Iron Man.

No need to watch other marvel movies

To describe my feelings and thoughts towards the icon and legend that is Tony Stark would be impossible I think his death was portrayed in the best way it could. He deserved to die surrounded by people who respect and love him. Robert Downey jr is legit so right in doing what he did, as having his last words be “I am Ironman” is Perfection itself!

I love him, no one will ever replace it, and I can do the Marvel films I think I've finished

My eyes were almost teary....

love him 3000

I thought the mcu was over without tony stark but still love him 3000
