Avengers: Endgame messed up our timeline with regard to Chris Evans' Steve Rogers aka Captain America. The Marvel Cinematic Universe character opted to stay back in the past when he stepped out to place the Infinity Stones back. The superhero chose to stay back in the past with Peggy Carters and live a family life like Tony Stark did before he died. The Russo Brothers directorial went on to show an old Steve sitting by the lake, handing over the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson aka Falcon.

While fans are eager to know what Captain America's future looks like from here on, Comicbook.com travelled back into time and blew our minds with their observation. The international publication travelled back to Peggy Carter's funeral, as shown in Captain America: Civil War. Fans would remember Steve Rogers was present at the funeral and paid his respects to his first and only love. Turns out, the publication spotted the old Steve Rogers also present at the venue.

As per their theory, the old man seen holding the casket is none other than the old Steve Rogers. While we don't see his face, the theory is based on the back on Steve's head. Don't remember the scene? Check out the scene below:

Avengers: Endgame saw Evans hung up his shield, handing over the mantel to Anthony Mackie. The actor has announced his retirement from the Marvel Cinematic Universe before 2018 ended. He tweeted that he had finished filming his last scene as Captain America and his announcement led to a Twitter breakdown. Ever since the movie released, Evans along with the other Avengers: Endgame stars have been sharing some heartwarming BTS pictures. Here are a few:
