While we all await the epic conclusion to hit us when we go watch Avengers: Endgame in theatres, it is a known fact by now that the runtime of the film is a little over three hours. Avengers: Endgame, which is the culmination of all the 22 movies we have witnessed so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is one of the most awaited movies of the year. The Marvel film, by far, has the longest runtime and director duo Russo Brother's recently revealed that the their director's cut was not three-hours long.

Turns out, the first cut of Avengers: Endgame by the Russo Brothers was shorter and not three-hours long. Speaking to Collider, the Russo Brothers revealed that though there wasn't a marginal difference between the first and final cut, it was definitely lesser.

Explaining the runtime, Joe Russo said, "We've been working on this movie for well over a year in editorial because we finished it in 2018, and it literally hasn't moved maybe more than two minutes from its original runtime on the director's cut. It's just a tough one. There's just a lot of story in it. We like emotional stakes that require screen time."

He added, "We have almost everything in this movie that we shot... I think [our first cut] was slightly shorter than this." Short or not, Indian audiences definitely wouldn't mind the three hour runtime, given the fact that a lot of Bollywood and regional films span that long.
