Robert Pattinson is gearing up to fill the shoes of Batman for Matt Reeves' directorial, The Batman, which will be a standalone film on the beloved DC superhero. A lot of talk regarding the casting choice has made the rounds with some complaining about Robert not being fit to play the Caped Crusader while others think the Twlight (2008) star should be given a fair chance to prove his mettle as a performer. On the other hand, other parts are reportedly in the process of being cast as well.

This includes Jonah Hill being approached to play either Riddler or Penguin and Jeffrey Wright in talks to play Commissioner James Gordon. Then, there's Catwoman, who plays a very important role in Bruce Wayne's life, as well already know. There were reports suggesting that Matt was looking for an actress of colour to play Selina Kyle. According to GWW's Thomas Polito, two MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) actresses are being approached to play Catwoman - Black Panther 2 star Lupita Nyong'o and Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson. Other names added to the list are Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alexandra Shipp and Logan Browning.

The Batman is slated to release on June 25, 2021.
