After months of secrecy, Marvel Studios dropped the first trailer of Black Widow last week. The Marvel movie, which kicks off Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 4, sees Scarlett Johansson reprise her superhero role for the stand-alone movie. The trailer gave fans a glimpse of Natasha Romanoff's journey between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Now, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is shedding more light on the Cate Shortland directorial. The studio's chief creative officer has teased Black Widow would change the way MCU fans would see Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

In a conversation with IGN, Feige revealed that the idea behind Black Widow was to explore the superhero's mysterious past and adventures she has during her exile period between Civil War and Infinity War which eventually impacts her future. He added, "There are things that she does in Infinity War and Endgame that you'll see in a new light once you see the Black Widow."

One of those impacts were seen in the trailer. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Natasha was wearing the same vest as Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova wore the meal scene in Avengers: Infinity War when she reunites with Captain America and Scarlet Witch. Meanwhile, Feige also revealed that the studio began spinning the idea of Black Widow during the making of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. "It occurred to us that we had seen her adventures in the Avengers movies, but a lot of stuff happened in between those movies that we never saw, we didn't hear about, we didn't learn about. And [with] that, we wanted to do a movie with Scarlett Johansson because she is Natasha Romanoff and not do a story with a younger Black Widow for the whole film," he said.

Black Widow is set to release on May 1, 2020. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
