The rapper recently took to Twitter and to reveal why shes couldn’t perform the summer-anthem at the inauguration. "Ugh I was supposed to perform wap at the inauguration today but I had a dentist appointment," she joked, "maybe next time." Talking about the inauguration, Jennifer Lopez performed the iconic “This Land Is Your Land” at the ceremony. During the performance, she also briefly delivered a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish, as well as yelling out “Let’s get loud,” a reference to her hit single. Lady Gaga was also amongst the performers as she delivered “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the historic ceremony today. Just moments before the ceremony, the pop icon tweeted: “Singing our National Anthem for the American People is my honour. I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change—between POTUS 45 and 46. For me, this has great meaning. My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land. Respectfully and kindly, Lady Gaga.”
