Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and other Avengers: Endgame stars might have not got nominated in leading and supporting categories but Critics' Choice Awards 2020 recognised Avengers: Endgame in the technical categories. The Marvel movie, which broke all box office records this summer, has bagged three nominations in the 25th annual Critics' Choice Awards nominations list. These include Best Visual Effects, Best Action Movie and Best Sci-Fi or Horror Movie. Summer 2019 will also be remembered for Game of Thrones. While it might have not impressed fans as much as it was expected to, the HBO show did impress the jury at the Critics' Choice Awards 2020. As a result, GoT bagged four nominations.

The fantasy-drama show has been nominated for Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series - Kit Harington, Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series - Peter Dinklage and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series - Gwendoline Christie. While the pop shined as much as they could, it was the festival movies that stole the show.

Martin Scorsese's The Irishman leads the nominations pack with 14 nominations. This includes Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Robert De Niro), Best Supporting Actor (Al Pacino and Joe Pesci) and Best Acting Ensemble among others. Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood followed with 12 nods. Little Women bagged nine nominations, 1917 and Marriage Story stood out with eight nominations each. Jojo Rabbit, Joker and Parasite boasted of seven nods.
