Stepping away from their alter-egos Doctor Strange, The Beast and Spider-Man, Benedict Cumberbatch, Nicholas Hoult and Tom Holland along with Michael Shannon go back in time as they star in The Current War. The Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directorial sheds light on the famous Edison vs. Tesla rivalry. While Benedict plays Thomas Edison, Nicholas will be seen as Nikola Tesla, Michael Shannon plays George Westinghouse and Tom essays the role of Samuel Insull. The new trailer of The Current War came out today.

In the trailer of The Current War, we get an in-depth look at the "war of the currents". The storyline is based on true events as Edison tried to use DC technology to introduce light in Manhattan. But he finds a rival in businessman Westinghouse and his partner Tesla with the latter's AC electrical current, which is a more deadly approach. Judging by the trailer, you can make out that the story does not filter the inner politics involved during the controversial period and we can expect magic from another Benedict Cumberbatch performance.
