SPOILER ALERT: This story has spoilers from X-Men: Dark Phoenix movie. Sophie Turner went from Game of Thrones' Sansa Stark to Jean Grey for Dark Phoenix. The X-Men film is the last of the movie from the 19-year-long franchise. The movie surrounded around Jean goes rogue. Fans are taken through the life of Jean and events that changed her. Her changed shade left brought about a few plot twist. But the biggest twist, rather a shock, was when Jean kills Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique accidentally. The twist was teased in the trailer released a few months ago.

The death takes place when Jean experiences an emotional outburst and the Phoenix Force results in Mystique's death. As much as shocking it was for us to watch, it was a task for Sophie to shoot the scene. Sophie confessed that she had a lot of trouble getting her emotions right for the scene.

Speaking to USA Today, she revealed, “It’s the catalyst for everything that happens in the movie. There was a lot of buzz around the scene, and I didn’t take it lightly. It’s such a kind of emotionally hyped-up scene." She went on to add that she cried because she couldn't get the scene right. "I was crying because I couldn’t get it, and then the minute I started to feel that kind of frustration and that anger, I realized, ‘This is what Jean is supposed to be feeling right now,'" she added. "The fact that I couldn’t get the scene right made me get the scene right," she said.

Although the cast took the effort put up a good show, the film failed to impress critics and fans. The movie scored the least rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Dark Phoenix also registered the lowest opening weekend box office collection of an X-Men movie in the past 19 years.
