Hollywood has seen some very heated debates over the years. But, the one ignited by the controversial comments of Martin Scorsese about Marvel movies is hitting new heights. As we have seen Francis Ford Coppola also following the path of Scorsese. But, there are some big names too on the other side of the table to support Marvel movies. Now, the main man Bob Iger has come forward in his recent interview to give his views on Scorsese’s comments.

BBC interviewed Bob recently and asked him about Star Wars, Disney’s upcoming streaming service, and Martin Scorsese. So, jumping straight to his spicy reaction on Scorsese calling Marvel movies ‘Non-Cinema’, he said, "Ouch! Martin Scorsese is a great film-maker. I admire him immensely. He's made some great films. I would debate him on this subject. First of all, Marvel's making movies. They're movies. That's what Martin Scorsese makes. And they're good movies." Bob continued "I don't think he's ever seen a Marvel film. Anyone who's seen a Marvel film could not in all truth make that statement."

Well, it's easy to suspect that Iger isn’t impressed by the comments of Scorsese, whom he respects a lot. We all know that Scorsese is one of the greatest filmmakers of all-time and we will never be able to see anyone quite like him ever again. But, it's also true that his comments about Marvel movies had a smell of jealousy in it. Yes, this could be the case because superhero movies have overpowered every other genre in Hollywood.

Also, the prime credit of this goes to the duo of ‘Disney and Marvel’. Last year, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ was the highest-grossing movie of 2018 and this year ‘Avengers: Endgame’ broke the record of James Cameron’s Avatar. So, do you think Marvel movies aren’t cinema and all this record-breaking success is a coincidence? Tell us about your views in the comments section below.
