Edge says his epic Royal Rumble 2021 win is crazier than a Hollywood script; Christian teases his WWE future

In what was an equally emotional moment for the WWE Universe, Edge heroically jumped over the '29 wrestlers' hoop to be crowned as the winner of the Men's Royal Rumble at the recently held Royal Rumble 2021. Moreover, what came as a major shocker was Christian's surprise return as he aided his best friend on the latter's path to victory.

In a backstage interview, post his monumental win, Edge was asked his thoughts on going to the main event of Wrestlemania 37. The 47-year-old wrestler seemed to be in utter disbelief as he stated, with a laugh, "It means a lot. As soon as this was all done. So, if you had told me four years ago that I'd be in the Royal Rumble, going in first and winning it to go to WrestleMania... I still feel like I need to pinch myself but I still feel like I'm going to wake up. It doesn't make sense. And then, for Jay to be in there, it just... if you wrote this as a script for Hollywood, they'd say it's impossible. It can never happen, it's not realistic."

"Yet, here we are. I don't get it and I think I'm going to stop trying to get it and just enjoy it. And stop analysing it and analysing why and how and all of these things, and just go, 'F**k it!' It's happening and it's awesome. And I feel great and I have my best friend back with me again. You know, it's just... I can't... I'm very happy," Edge concluded with a smile.

On the other hand, during his backstage interview, Christian was asked how it felt to be back in the ring after seven years. "It was a little surreal, to be honest with you. I didn't know what to expect. But it's funny, they say everybody has a plan until you get hit. And that was kind of the case here. I kind of had a vision of what was going to happen. I got hit once and like, 'All right, it's on.' But it felt good. This was what I was born to do, it felt like being home," the wrestler revealed.

On how it was like to be back in the locker room with everybody, Christian stated it was "good" while admitting that nobody knew what was happening so he was "playing coy all day." On his best friend winning the Men's Royal Rumble, Christian honestly reacted, "If I couldn't win it, I'm glad he did. I'll put it that way."

Finally, when quizzed on what's next for him, in regards to his WWE future, Christian slyly teased, "What's next for me? All I ever promised was one more match. That could be it," before swiftly walking away with a smirk on his face.
