16 years ago, we were first introduced to Dr. Meredith Grey, her friends, family and love interests. Over the years, Meredith proved to become a powerhouse force, while many prominent characters around her died, leading to a death toll that could rival even Game of Thrones! Grey's Anatomy Season 16 aired this week on September 26, 2019, and shows us the aftermath of Meredith's actions that could lead to her medical license getting revoked. Fans have been wondering if the season could be the last for the long-running medical drama and Ellen Pompeo may have teased a bit about the end, during her interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

While Ellen chose to keep mum on her future in Grey's Anatomy post season 16, the actress did divulge her thoughts on what her dream ending for the show would be. "I mean, I’d love to have some of the old cast come back, the original cast is just like," Pompeo shared while putting her hand over her heart but was quick to add, "But that probably won’t happen, but that would be the most amazing way to end it." The 49-year-old actress may have been referring to the OG Grey's Anatomy cast members like Sandra Oh and Patrick Dempsey.
