Directed by Chloé Zhao, The Eternals is slated to release on November 6, 2020.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2019, one of the most exciting lineups for Phase 4 of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) was The Eternals, simply for its elaborate star-studded cast. Directed by Chloé Zhao, The Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Barry Keoghan, Gemma Chan and Kit Harington, just to name a few. The highly ambitious project is based on the Eternals, who are an immortal alien race, protecting humanity for thousands of years.

However, The Eternals is also a major risk for Marvel Studios as it ventures into unchartered territories. While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios acknowledged the risk factor as well as the part of The Eternals being a very expensive film. "It is a very big movie. It is a very expensive movie. And we are making it because we believe in [Zhao's] vision and we believe in what those characters can do and we believe we need to continue to grow and evolve and change and push our genre forward," Kevin shared with THR.

"That's a risk if I've ever heard one," Feige stated.

Meanwhile, the cast of The Eternals is busy at work in Spain as they are shooting at the Canary Islands. However, there was a recent bomb scare that led to Angelina and Richard being evacuated from the sets. It was an unexploded bomb, that had been there for decades, dating way back to the Second World War.

The Eternals is slated to release on November 6, 2019.
