One of the biggest, controversial and popular moments in WWE's PG era history was when, during an episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk put John Cena through a table and delivered a memorable pipe bomb about how he was ill-treated in the company. His one 'shoot' promo changed the landscape of WWE and ushered in a new era which can be aptly titled as the 'Summer of Punk.' What followed was an exciting few months and a fired-up Punk, along with Cena! Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer had given five stars to John Cena vs. CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011.

However, in 2015, Punk quit WWE due to irreconcilable differences with the company and especially, Vince McMahon. Since then, the WWE Universe chants 'CM Punk' at various WWE events in the hopes of a comeback by Mr. Pipebomb, but it looks like Punk's beef with the company is too intense to ever work out! But, what did CM really think of John Cena, the face that runs the place, during his time in WWE? During an appearance at Starrcast III, Punk got candid about WWE and his working equation with John, while he was still a part of the company.

"I always liked working with John because again, it was easy. I think John was in a position where he was almost kind of glad somebody else came in and forcibly like took the reins," Punk shared and added, "I think John was stoked that he didn't have to be that guy directing traffic. And he let me do whatever I wanted. So, I think he was relieved. But, I also think that's how we worked together really well, you know?"
