It seems like Hollywood is not enjoying the outburst of Marvel movies lately. Just last week, acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese remarked Marvel movies are not cinema. His statement caused an uproar among MCU fans and several Marvel actors, including Samuel L Jackson and Robert Downey Jr, reacted to his statement. And now, Jennifer Aniston has shared her thoughts on the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Friends Alum has now expressed the need to see fewer MCU movies and more Meg Ryan kind of movies.

Jen, who will soon be seen in The Morning Show, shared her thoughts during an interaction with Variety. Looking back at the industry over the past few decades, she observes that films have changed tremendously. She feels that Marvel movies are "diminishing" the Hollywood industry.

"It wasn’t until the last couple of years when these streaming services were just sort of exploding with this amount of quality that I actually started to think, “Wow, that’s better than what I just did. And then you’re seeing what’s available out there and it’s just diminishing and diminishing in terms of, it’s big Marvel movies. Or things that I’m not just asked to do or really that interested in living in a green screen," she told the international outlet.

"It’s changed so much. I think we would so love to have the era of Meg Ryan come back. I just think it would be nice to go into a movie theater, sit cozy. I think we should have a resurgence. Let’s get the ‘Terms of Endearment’ back out there. You know, ‘Heaven Can Wait,’ ‘Young Frankenstein,’ ‘Blazing Saddles,’ ‘Goodbye Girl,'" she added.

While she mentions Marvel, it seems like she was discussing comic book movies in general and not taking potshots at the empire. Interestingly, several Hollywood actors are in the race to star in an MCU movie lately. Oscar Award winner Mahershala Ali, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, Angelina Jolie, and many others are making their MCU soon. We wonder if the Meg Ryan era would return. What do you think?
