Hollywood is no stranger to the fake script ordeal. Many filmmakers choose to hand over a fake script to their actors in order to keep spoilers from leaking. We've heard Marvel Studios do it with the Avengers: Endgame stars. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss decided to hand over a fake script to Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen. He essayed the role of Theon Greyjoy on the show. The makers decided to fool the actor into believing his character dies even before the final season played out, Alfie revealed during his recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The actor revealed that the makers handed him a script, which included his death sequence. “I kind of just took it on the chin and got on with it," he revealed. Alfie remembers his co-stars telling Benioff and Weiss three weeks after Alfie was handed the script that the makers should probably reach out to Alfie and clarify “because he might be tearing his hair out.” However, Alfie wasn't bothered about it. While his co-stars thought Alfie must be fretting over it, he was "sunbathing" instead. Well, that's one way to celebrate your character's death. Alfie's Theon eventually dies in the season finale. He dies sacrificing Bran Stark in The Long Night episode.

Alfie has been nominated for an Emmy 2019 award. He has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Game of Thrones. His GoT costars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage have been nominated as well. "I wasn’t expecting [the nomination], it’s incredible. There are a lot of actors I admire in that category, just to be there is amazing, just came home now with my dog and letting it sink in. It’s just an honor, man, it’s just amazing," Alfie told Entertainment Weekly.
