For years, Game of Thrones has been wreaking havoc when it came to being the unmissable binge-watching show for millions! However, in 2019, we saw GOT's end with season 8 as we bid farewell to iconic characters like Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. But fear not, loyal Game of Thrones fans! Because HBO is working on not one but four prequels to quench our appetite. The first of the prequels, tentatively titled Bloodmoon or The Long Night, has already wrapped shooting and will star Naomi Watts, in the titular role.

For House Targaryen fans, in paticular, there is some amazing news for you guys! According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, one of the prequels will focus on the beginnings and the end of House Targaryen. The setting will take place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. What's even better is that George R.R. Martin will be co-writing the script of the drama, based on his novel Fire & Blood, with Ryan Condal. Fire & Blood was released last November and is a companion piece to George's Song of Fire and Ice saga.

The storyline begins with Aegon the Conqueror, who GOT fans will know as the creator of the prestigious Iron Throne. The prequel will recount the history of the Targaryen family line which includes beloved characters like Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow and Viserys Targaryen.
