Gossip Girl Reboot: THIS Gossip Girl alum wanted Kristen Bell's part in the new series; Find Out
Unless you've been living under the rock, you would already know that HBO is rebooting Gossip Girl. The new set of episodes will revisit the Upper East Side of Manhattan but with a different looking glass. There will be new faces and a new person taking charge of the controversial website. While the makers of the reboot are yet to announce the new star cast, it has been confirmed that an old-timer is joining the new Gossip Girl. It was confirmed last week that Kristen Bell is reprising her role of voicing the Gossip Girl show.
While everyone's excited to hear her return for the reboot, Gossip Girl alum Chace Crawford wished he was approached for the job. The actor, who played Nate Archibald on the show, shared his reaction to Bell joining the cast. He was thrilled that Bell was working with the makers but he wished he was considered for the part.
“Is she? I love it! That’s the best job in the world. You show up and do that voice. And she has the best voice, she’s great,” he told Us Weekly. “I would love to do the voice. I wish they would ask me to do the voice of Gossip Girl this time around! That’s a great job. It’s a great gig. They didn’t ask me!” he quipped. Do you Crawford would have been a good pick to voice the new Gossip Girl show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Crawford has been open about his interest in joining the new show. Soon after Gossip Girl reboot news broke out, Crawford confessed he was ready to reprise his role as Nate for the new episodes, if needed. We hope he and other cast members - Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Ed Westwick and others - play at least a cameo in the new show.
