The Upper East Siders are officially returning. The hit teen drama series Gossip Girl is about to make its way back to the small screen after eight long years, reported E!News. International media reports stated that a 10-episode reboot of the much-loved series will be showcased on HBO Max, a brand new streaming destination that will be launched next year. It's the same streaming service that will also take away Friends from Netflix come 2020.

The Gossip Girl reboot will pick up eight years later and follow the lives of Manhattan's richest kids who are now introduced to the Gossip Girls' watchful eye. The show wouldn't have been where it is today if it wasn't for its iconic characters like Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass or Serena Van Der Woodsen.

However, there is no word on whether any of the original cast will be involved in the reboot. The news of the reboot sent many fans into overdrive, but the fact that none of the original cast will be a part of it sent many thinking if its' actually be going to worth it. Die-hard fans commented, "If the new #GossipGirl doesn’t feature Blair Cornelia Waldorf, go ahead and cancel it. Period." Whereas another one wrote, "Ok I don’t know how I feel about the reboot of #GossipGirl without the original cast."
